Saint Helen's Helping Hands and Hearts outreach program meets the spiritual, material and financial needs of our local community. Activities include the Prayer Network, Meals to Shut Ins, Transportation, Home Visits, One-on-One Ministry and the Nursing Home. Two special collections are taken up each year. Memorial donations are accepted at any time to provide the financial assistance needed by members of our local community. Our outreach to the poor and homeless are branches of the HHH program.
Soup Kitchen Volunteers
Saint Helen's parish has a long-time commitment to St. Joseph's Social Service Center Soup Kitchen in Elizabeth. We are responsible for feeding approximately 200 people on the third Saturday of teach month and this effort requires many hands. We need cooks who prepare some part of the meal at home and deliver to St. Helen's by Friday, and we need servers who go to Elizabeth to help assemble the meal and serve it on Saturday. Volunteers can choose their preference of dates during the year and sign up as cook or server. The schedule is being prepared now.
Clark Shop-Rite Bakery Pick-up
Do you have an hour to spare on Thursday mornings? We are in need of someone to pick up the bakery items from Shop-Rite in Clark Thursday mornings around 9:45 and either take them to St. Joseph’s in Elizabeth.
