The Liturgical Celebration

Since the second century, the Mass (or Eucharistic Liturgy) has had a structure that is common to all Catholics. The mass has two major parts: The Liturgy of the Word and the Liturgy of the Eucharist.
The Liturgy of the Word contains scripture readings, homily, Profession of Faith, and General Intercessions.
The Liturgy of the Eucharist contains the presentation of the bread and wine, the Eucharist Prayer, and the reception of Holy Communion.
Through the Eucharist Jesus Christ shares with us his Body and Blood under the form of bread and wine. The mass is a sacred banquet that culminates in the reception of Holy Communion.
Many have been drawn to Saint Helen's because our liturgies are uplifting, fulfilling and alive. We invite you to join us and hope that you will come to see yourself not only as a Sunday worshiper, but as an important and necessary participant in the day-to-day mission of our parish.
Sacraments
As Catholics, one of the most profound ways we encounter Jesus Christ is in the Sacraments. The sacraments are effacious signs of grace, instituted by Christ and entrusted to the Church, by which divine life is dispensed to us. There are seven sacraments.
The Sacraments of Initiation are Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist
The Sacraments of Healing are Penance/Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick
The Sacraments at the Service of Communion are Holy Orders and Matrimony
